Abstract :

The objective of study was to evaluate the influence of enzyme on carcass characteristics of commercial broiler chicks. Two enzymes levels, without and with enzyme supplementation were considered for the study. The experiment was consisted of two replicates for enzyme groups. Thecarcass characteristics and conformation traits of broiler was evaluated at 6th week of age. Data were analyzed on survivor and equal number of bird’s per subclass basis. Analysis of variance revealed that the difference between replicates were not significant for the different traits.Subsequent analysis was performed on combined sex basis.Inclusion of enzyme in diet had highly significant effect (<0.01) in both the sexes. Group of chicks fed on the diet with enzyme were significantly (0.05) heavier than those fed with diet without enzyme at second week. It indicates that the enzyme supplementation had weighty effect on early growth of chicks. Inclusion of enzyme in diet had significant (0.05) effect at third week age of body weight; the group of chicks fed with enzyme supplemented diet (E) had significantly (0.05) higher body weight than the group fed without enzyme supplemented diet (E0). It indicates that inclusion of enzyme in diet had positive effects on chicks. Inclusion of enzyme revealed significant (0.05) effects on males body weight and highly significant (0.01) on females body weight. Chicks of both sexes showed higher body weight with diet having enzyme. Similarly highly significant (0.01) effect was also obtained from combined sex analysis of variance. As measured for earlier body weights males were found to be superior at 6 week body weight than the females. Keywords: enzyme, carcass, chicks, confirmation trait, carcass trait
